What is functional wellness?
functional wellness (func.tion.al well.ness)
(noun) Functional wellness is a person-centered approach to health that seeks to identify and rebalance the root cause of wellness issues, rather than simply mask symptoms with “a pill for every ill.” It engages both the client and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of health to a more person-centered approach, functional wellness addresses the whole person.
Bio-individuality... functional wellness asks "who is this person who has these symptoms", not "what 'X disease' (a name given to a group of symptoms) does this person have?"
Functional wellness utilizes dietary and lifestyle modifications, and when necessary, other non-toxic interventions, including but not limited to herbal remedies and nutritional supplements.
So when you work with a functional wellness coach, we won't focus on symptoms. Instead, we'll address the optimal functioning of your body from the cells outward, to bring it back into balance.
