(noun) Functional wellness is a person-centered approach to health that seeks to identify and rebalance the root cause of wellness issues, rather than mask symptoms with “a pill for every ill.” It engages the client and coach in a therapeutic partnership. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of health to a person-centered approach, functional wellness addresses the whole person.

Bio-individuality... functional wellness asks "who is this person who has these symptoms", not "what 'X disease' (a name given to a group of symptoms) does this person have?"  

Functional wellness utilizes dietary and lifestyle modifications, and when necessary, other non-toxic interventions, including but not limited to herbal remedies and nutritional supplements.

So when you work with a functional wellness coach, we won't focus on your symptoms. Instead, we'll address the optimal functioning of your body from the cells outward, to bring it back into balance.

Ultimately, Functional Wellness is learning how to truly LISTEN to the clues and cues your body is giving you (a.k.a. symptoms), discovering what those clues and cues may indicate, and naturally rebalancing your body to resolve or improve your symptoms and feel well again.
